Reasons for Using Lubricity Improvers

Lubricity issues were first reported in Europe with the introduction of low-sulfur diesel fuel in Sweden. Fuel pump failures were observed in new cars driven as little as 10,000 km. Investigation showed the removal of sulfur from fuel by hydrodesulfurization also removes the inherently active molecules useful for providing lubrication between two moving metal surfaces.

Cestoil Chemical has long been involved with supplying lubricity improvers to refineries. We provide both acid and ester types of lubricity improvers that form a film between the two surfaces. Our activities do not stop in supplying product, however. We also undertake R&D to improve product suitability and performance further.
