EcoTall L1A

Low rosin tall oil fatty acid

EcoTall L1A is a low-rosin tall oil fatty acid for general industrial conversion and formulation. It supplies unsaturated fatty acid functionality for alkyd resins, esters, surfactants and application-specific derivatives.

Where L1A fits

Choose L1A for general low-rosin applications where its unsaponifiables limit is suitable. L1 and L1S have tighter unsaponifiables limits and specified raw-material cloud-point control; L1S also has a tighter initial-color limit.

Application routes

  • Alkyd resins and esters: an unsaturated fatty acid feedstock for chemical conversion.
  • Metalworking fluids and corrosion-inhibitor intermediates: a low-rosin input for fatty acid salts and other derivatives.
  • Oilfield chemicals, surfactants and cleaners: a building block for application-specific formulations.

Formulation and low-temperature review

Use the batch acid value to calculate neutralizer or alcohol requirements. Verify conversion, residual acidity and finished-product properties under representative processing conditions.

The typical titer is a fatty acid solidification measurement. It is not a specified cloud point or pour point. Applications with defined low-temperature requirements should use a grade with corresponding controlled limits and evaluate the finished formulation separately.

Packaging and storage

The current PDS lists lined drums, totes and bulk ISO tank or flexibag supply. Confirm the packaging and shipment arrangement for your destination.

Follow the PDS storage guidance and keep containers securely closed in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area. Limit unnecessary exposure to air and moisture. Review the current safety data sheet before use.
